Received!

Sara over at Sara Skates was my Back Tack II partner.  My Back Tack-ee - the one that I Back Tacked for.  Does this make sense?  I made stuff for her and sent it in a big box, and she got it last week. There.  That's how it worked.

Now that it's been received I can post some pics of what I made and sent.

This is the complete package - bag, pouch, kit and other miscellaneous goodies.  I sort of got a little carried away by the end of it, and the package ended up being 2kg - in fact it was heavier, but I took a few lollies out and got it down to 2kg.

I was really happy with the way these stitch markers turned out.  I don't really like the rings I had to attach them to, they're a little fussy for me, but the beads and shrinky dink ice skates turned out great.  Sara is quite an accomplished ice skater, so I sort of worked this into a couple of the things I did for her.

Yay for backtack!   Because the next backtack isn't until April 06, and it's pretty much all pre-registered with people who didn't get into Back Tack II, I have been seriously thinking of starting a "I didn't get into Back Tack, but I want to participate in a giant swap." one, I was thinking I'd call it "Second String", as I imagine it would be made up of people who really wanted to participate in Back Tack but couldn't get in.  I was thinking about having it start on New Year's day, and finish up on the last day of February, with the unveiling in the first week of March.  I wonder if the back tack girls would mention it on their site, maybe give me a few tips too...

Anyway, it's been raining here on and off for a few days, and the boys are going a bit stir crazy with being kept inside.  I haven't posted yet about our "Greyhound Adoption" process.  I'll just say for now that Charlene Banner came to stay on Monday, and went home on Tuesday.  She did not take to muppy at all, and in the 24 hrs she was here she developed quite a distaste for poor little muppy.  Fortunately there is another available grey, called Romeo who will be coming for a trial on Friday - let's all hope he can make it through the weekend.

In Queensland we have the Greyhound Adoption Programme (GAP) which is a Greyhound Racing Commission sponsored programme to rehome retired racing greyhounds. We have always wanted a retired racing greyt as a pet, so we're "fostering" greyhounds that might be a suitable match for muppy. When we find one, that's the one we'll adopt. They make wonderful pets.

Thanks for your comment, I'm going to be contacting the Back Tack girls to see if they would be willing to help me out with "PR" for my Second String idea.
