Name: Karyn
I read a lot of other Blogs, journals and diaries. I make stuff. Sometimes I write stuff too. I kept a geocities diary for 3 years once. I'm hoping that will mean I'll keep posting here for more than a month or two.

I did some sewing yesterday, but having to constantly use my sore right eye took its toll, and by the end of the day I had to wear an eye patch to give it a rest.
I was up walking around the house at midnight, waiting for the discomfort to subside enough for me to get to sleep, when I had an idea. This is what I came up with:
Ok, I've been tagged, so here we go...

Let's just say that last week the right hand side of my face swelled up like a cauliflower, then went numb, and now ya'll can just call me 'droopy face'.
After experiencing these strange symptoms for a few days, visiting the ER, then my family Dr, then a different ER, I wound up in hospital for a few days.
The aftermath of the whole experience is that the right hand side of my face is now paralysed. I look pretty goofy, and talk like a pirate, but I'm ok. Full recovery from the facial paralysis is expected in less than 50% of cases...so I"m hoping I'll be one of the lucky 50% that actually recovers.
List of things I can't do until further notice:
1. Drive a car
2. Operate a sewing machine
3. Use scissors
4. Watch TV
5. Use a computer (well I can but it HURTS!)
6. Read
basically anything that involves hand/eye co-ordination - because my right eye won't blink or focus by itself, so it drives me nuts to do anything that involves these types of skills.
