Potty training is driving me nuts...

1 drop of pee in the potty every two minutes...sure, it beats a litre of pee cascading down the legs, soaking clothes, soft furnishings and anything within a 1m radius, but it's getting tired.

I don't want to look at any more poo.

Maltesers sized nuggets, pollywaffle logs, and everything in between.  What do these kids eat?  I don't know, but I keep having to see what comes out of their rear ends.

All this stuff happens to me, but somehow it never makes it in here.

It's like, I sit down here to write and then, I feel like I'm in year 10 writing an essay, and I get all correct sentences, intricate grammar, and beginning-middle-end essay planning...all the spontenaiety goes and I'm left staring at the screen.

Some things I'm not sure I can write.  I want to write about my work - but I don't want to lose my job.  Sometimes things I do in my personal life, could be seen as conflicting with my job...so I can't write about that either.  Adults that I know have been named - because it's just stupid not to, but in doing so, it has cut off my ability to write about my work or my social life.  Perhaps if I go back, nom de plume everyone, it will open up a vast new horizon of material.

I'm thinking about it.  In fact as I write this I'm deciding that it might be a good idea.

Maybe I should write about Saturday night in the mean time, since it presents no conflict or difficulty.  Just an 18 year old trainwreck of a girl, hopped up on cheap pink girly drinks, and sloshing and slurring all over the place.  Her size 20 body stuffed painfully into size 10 clothes, asking every man in sight (old or young" "Do you think I'm sexy", offering to prove that she was if only they'd come inside with her.  I don't want to leave out the bit where she spent 5 minutes attacking a naturally skinny and gangly 16 year old about putting on weight and daring her to go inside and get rid of her dinner in the toilet.  The party stopped dead, all conversation ceased and one very brave 16 year old said "I'm happy the way I am, fat or skinny, so why don't you just leave me alone.".

Blythe head off

Hot 'n Spicy is headless.  I have been doing a little customisation á la Puchimadam on Hot 'n Spicy (PWP)...as I've bonded with her least, I felt that I had nothing to loose by playing around with her a bit.  A few weekends ago I sand matted her face - and this worked well...then over Easter I painted in some lovely deep brown lipstick with a little smile for her.  Then this weekend just past I decided to do something with the custom brainworm eye chips that I had, so I gathered together all the foiling paper I'd been collecting and got started.  I painted the chips with tamiya gloss paint, 2 coats.  Let it dry over night.  Then in the morning I experimented with different colour combinations.  By far the best was pairing deep charcoal grey eye chips with gold holographic paper - giving a beautiful deep olive sparkle eye chip - this one for Hot 'n Spicy's front facing eyes, and pairing a blue/pink/turquoise pearl paper with light crystal blue eye chips - these ones for Original (LL).

My first problem came about when I thought the glue had dried after putting in Original's eye chips, only to have one of them fall into her head when I pulled her string to change eye colours.  Luckily I was able to open her head, by unscrewing it and carefully prising it open and getting the eye chip out with tweezers.  This time I've glued them in PERMANENTLY and am leaving them 24hrs before even thinking about changing eye colour.  As a result of this little mishap, I decided to change the glue on all the replaced eye chips, and moved to a fast dry, permanent glue - well it said it was fast drying.  I pulled Hot 'n Spicy's string to change to her side facing eyes, and one of her front facing chips fell into her head...except this time the procedure to open her head and rescue the chip didn't go so well.  It seems that one of the screws in the back of her head had been glued in in the factory, and I couldn't prise open her head further than about 3mm, not wanting to damage her I just left her.  Even though I only opened her head about 3mm, her body came straight off...yet when I opened Original's head, even though I got it open about 10-15mm, her body wouldn't come free of her head.

Still sick today, but took Blondie and Smartie to Lollipops indoor playland with Tracy and her son Liam.  It was ok - the kids had a great time, but it was packed, and very noisy, and the general lack of staff supervision was a little disappointing.  It was also very expensive...generally I wouldn't complain about the cost of something - if it's too expensive I just wouldn't do it, but this was just on the borderline between acceptable and too expensive.  Mostly I was irritated by the blatant money grubbing of it all, kids can't wear socks from home, they have to pay $1 to wear playland socks + $5 deposit, no food or drinks to be brought in, all sorts of little irritating things that make the $10.50 per child entry + $3.00 per adult  a bit annoying.

Anywho the kids had a great time and in that respect it was worth it.

Weather was awful today, humid and raining, I hate this sweaty steamy weather that we have before Winter.

Coat hanger saves the day

11:30pm Thursday 31, March 2005.  Tayler and Dustin rescued.  Keys locked in car, my coffee gone cold. We won the race to get home though.

Yesterday I was violently hungry at about 5:30pm.  So I proceeded to eat anything I could get my hands on.  Then an overwhelming stupour came over me and after staggering to bed I slept for two hours until I was woken by Tayler and Dustin's repetitive playlist.

It's Friday now, Scott's last day at work...he was singing in the shower, and bouncing around getting ready.  I hope he sticks it to the man today.

I hoping that my new Ugg boots (immediately christened Ugly Boots by the boys in the house) will get me through today.  Those kids drove me nuts yesterday and I really do have to try not to wring their necks in order to keep my job.

We have been reading Dr Seuss books this week, in particular they have developed a rather fun fixation with "Hop on Pop", in this day and age of correctness and early learning and all that stuff - kids can be so stuffy and protected, it's nice to wheel out old Dr Seuss and let the kids have a little fun.  You can almost see their minds bending as Seuss shows them all sorts of behavioural possibilities.
